Working with me as a Birth Doula doesn’t guarantee what type of birth you will have. However, I am passionate about helping you have a birth experience where you feel in control, supported, heard and encouraged.

My doula package provides you and your whānau with customised support during pregnancy, labour and birth and the early postpartum period as everyone’s wants and desires for their birth will be different.

Establish a trusting relationship and gaining a good understanding of your needs and desires for birth will help identify what the best support is going to be for you.

This support can include birth preparation and education, physical and emotional support at your birth, a postpartum birth debrief and resources and books for your personal journey.

My doula service covers the following:

• Four 1.5-hour antenatal visits (at least one with your support person) plus an introduction phone call or visit with your Lead Maternity Carer (LMC).

• On-going phone or email support for the duration of your pregnancy through to the first two weeks postpartum if you have any questions, concerns or fears.

• 24 hours on-call for your labour birth support from 38 weeks until your baby is in your loving arms.

• Once labour begins, I will join you when you feel you want or need me, and I’ll remain with you up-to the first few hours of birth.

• Photos of your labour and birth, if desired (by a non-professional)

• One postnatal visit in the first two weeks at a time that works for you and your whānau to see how you are settling into early parenthood and to talk about your birth.
